Removal of trustees, procedure.
96.175. A trustee may be removed for crimes, misconduct,habitual drunkenness, willful neglect of duty, corruption inoffice, incompetency or oppression in office or for breach ofstandards required of a fiduciary in connection with managing andoperating the facility under sections 96.150 to 96.228, by amajority vote of the council if the removal is recommended by themayor or by a two-thirds vote of the council if the mayor has notrecommended removal of the trustee; but such trustee shall beremoved only after first being given a copy of the charges atleast ten days prior to the hearing thereon at which he shallhave an opportunity to be heard and present witnesses. A recordof the proceedings, together with the charges and findingsthereon, shall be maintained and filed in the office of theclerk.
