Cities may use streets and roads.
91.040. Any city, town or village, which any city of thisstate, having an electric light or power plant, may agree tosupply with electric current under the provisions of sections91.020 and 91.030, is hereby authorized and empowered to conductsaid current from the city, agreeing to supply the same, and forthat purpose to erect poles, piers, abutments, wires and otherfixtures along, across or under any of the public roads, streetsand water in such a manner as not to incommode or endanger thepublic in the use of said public roads, streets and waters, andto put in and maintain and operate all apparatus and devicesnecessary for and in conducting said current from the cityagreeing to supply the same into its own limits in, upon, overand through any territory of this state outside, as well aswithin, the limits of said city, town or village.
