Condemnation of property--judgment rendered for city.
88.057. When the council shall confirm the proceedings,judgment shall be rendered that the city have and hold theproperty so to be taken upon payment of the compensation assessedtherefor, for the purpose specified in the initiatory ordinance,that the city recover the respective amounts assessed againstprivate property, and that the lots, tracts and parcels of landso assessed for benefits stand severally charged and bound forthe payment of the respective assessments and the interest thatmay accrue thereon, and the city pay the amount, if any, chargedagainst it, and if said assessments are by the ordinanceaforesaid made payable in more than one installment the judgmentshall so recite. The city shall not have the right to takepossession of the property condemned until it has paid to theowners, or to the clerk of the court for the use of said owners,the amount of damages determined as aforesaid.
