78.480. 1. Except as provided in section 78.530, any person desiring tobecome a candidate for councilman shall file with the city clerk a statementof such candidacy in substantially the following form:

I, ........, being first dulysworn, say that I reside at ....... street, city of ........, county of......., state of Missouri; that I am a qualified voter therein; that I am acandidate for nomination to the office of councilman to be voted upon at theprimary election to be held on ....... Tuesday of ....., 20...., and ameligible therefor, and I hereby request that my name be printed upon theofficial primary ballot for nomination by primary election for such office,and that I will serve as such officer, if elected.
