Powers of council--witnesses, papers.
77.100. The council shall have power to compel theattendance of witnesses and the production of papers relating toany subject under consideration in which the interest of the cityis involved, and shall have power to call on the proper officerof the city, or of the county in which such city is located, toexecute such process. The officer making such service shall beentitled to receive therefor such fees as are allowed by law forsimilar service, to be paid by the city. The president of thecouncil, or president pro tem, shall have power to administeroaths to witnesses.
