71.920. In the event that the question of annexing suchterritory is approved by a unanimous affirmative vote in both theannexing municipality and the territory sought to be annexed, theannexing municipality, other provisions of this chapternotwithstanding, shall extend its limits by ordinance to includesuch territory, specifying with accuracy the new boundary linesto which the city, town, or village limits are extended, exceptthat, no such ordinance by any municipality in a first classcharter county which has a population of at least nine hundredthousand shall become effective sooner than one year after thedate of the election approving the annexation. Upon dulyenacting such annexation ordinance, the municipality shall causethree certified copies of the same to be filed with the clerk ofthe county wherein the municipality is located, whereupon theannexation shall be complete and final and thereafter all courtsof this state shall take judicial notice of the limits of thatmunicipality as so extended.
