34.160. The commissioner of administration shall not beinterested in any manner in any person, firm or corporationmaking bids for furnishing supplies or printing to the state orany subdivision or department thereof. He shall not receive noraccept, directly or indirectly, from any person, firm orcorporation who may bid for furnishing, or receive a contract tofurnish, any supplies or printing of any kind to the state, anyrebate, gift or other valuable thing. Acceptance of any suchrebate, gift or other valuable thing by the commissioner ofadministration shall be deemed a felony and on conviction thereofhe shall be punished by imprisonment in the state penitentiaryfor not less than two nor more than five years, or by fine of notless than five hundred dollars nor more than two thousanddollars, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
