Commissioners to issue duplicate bonds or coupons, when.
33.400. Whenever application is made for reissue of lostbonds or coupons, and proper bond has been given by the applicantand approved by the board of fund commissioners, the board offund commissioners shall examine the matter, and if they aresatisfied that said bonds or coupons have been destroyed, lost orstolen, then they shall order duplicate bonds or coupons of likenumber, date and amount of the original bonds or coupons to beissued, or they may, in their discretion, order a warrant for theamount of such bonds or coupons to be drawn on the appropriationmade by the general assembly for state sinking fund or stateinterest fund, for the payment of the same. When bonds areissued, coupons shall be attached thereto of the same characterand in the same number as was on the original bonds at the timeof their loss, destruction or theft.
