Section 245.62 Community Mental Health Center

245.62 COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH CENTER.

Subdivision 1.Establishment.

Any city, county, town, combination thereof, or private nonprofit corporation may establish a community mental health center.

Subd. 2.Definition.

A community mental health center is a private nonprofit corporation or public agency approved under the rules promulgated by the commissioner pursuant to subdivision 4.

Subd. 3.Clinical supervisor.

All community mental health center services shall be provided under the clinical supervision of a licensed psychologist licensed under sections 148.88 to 148.98, or a physician who is board certified or eligible for board certification in psychiatry, and who is licensed under section 147.02.

Subd. 4.Rules.

The commissioner shall promulgate rules to establish standards for the designation of an agency as a community mental health center. These standards shall include, but are not limited to:

(a) provision of mental health services in the prevention, identification, treatment and aftercare of emotional disorders, chronic and acute mental illness, developmental disabilities, and alcohol and drug abuse and dependency, including the services listed in section 245.61 except detoxification services;

(b) establishment of a community mental health center board pursuant to section 245.66; and

(c) approval pursuant to section 245.69, subdivision 2.
