Section 168.092 21-Day Temporary Vehicle Permit
168.092 21-DAY TEMPORARY VEHICLE PERMIT.
Subdivision 1.Resident buyer.
The motor vehicle registrar may issue a permit to a person purchasing a new or used motor vehicle in this state for the purpose of allowing the purchaser a reasonable time to register the vehicle and pay fees and taxes due on the transfer. The permit is valid for a period of 21 days. The permit must be in a form as the registrar may determine and, whenever practicable must be posted upon the left side of the inside rear window of the vehicle. Each permit is valid only for the vehicle for which issued.
Subd. 2.Dealer.
The registrar may issue a quantity of permits to licensed dealers. When issuing a permit, the dealer shall complete the permit in the manner prescribed by the department. One copy of the permit shall be retained in sequential order in the dealer's files.
