Section 12 Additional powers and duties

Section 12. The probate court may, upon such notice as it considers reasonable, authorize or require a special administrator to sell or do such other acts relative to any property or estate in his charge as it may deem necessary; but this section shall not give to the special administrator other or greater powers than an administrator, except that he may be authorized to continue the business of the deceased for the benefit of his estate, and such authority may be granted at the time of, or after, his appointment and may be given without notice or with such notice as the court may order to be given prior to or after the granting of such authority.
