§ 4-302. Law Enforcement Equipment Fund.
(a) Established.- There is a Law Enforcement Equipment Fund.
(b) Purpose.- The purpose of the Fund is to assist local law enforcement agencies in acquiring law enforcement equipment needed to address violent crime.
(c) Administration.- The Executive Director shall administer the Fund.
(d) Status.-
(1) The Fund is a special, nonlapsing fund that is not subject to § 7-302 of the State Finance and Procurement Article.
(2) The Treasurer shall hold the Fund separately and the Comptroller shall account for the Fund in conjunction with the Executive Director.
(e) Composition.- The Fund consists of money appropriated in the State budget to the Fund.
(f) Investments.- The Treasurer shall invest the money of the Fund in the same manner as other State money may be invested.
(g) Payments.- As authorized by the Executive Director, the Treasurer shall make payments out of the Fund to local law enforcement agencies.
