§ 4-301. Definitions.
(a) In general.- In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.

In this subsection and throughout this subtitle, the word "subtitle" is substituted for the former word "section" to reflect the reorganization of former § 4-101 as a subtitle in this revision.

(b) Executive Director.- "Executive Director" means the Executive Director of the Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention.

(c) Fund.- "Fund" means the Law Enforcement Equipment Fund.

This subsection is new language derived without substantive change from former Art. 41, § 4-101(a)(3).
The former phrase "established under this section" is deleted as unnecessary in a definition. The Fund is established by § 4-302 of this subtitle and that provision stands on its own as a substantive provision.
(d) Law enforcement equipment.-
(1) "Law enforcement equipment" means equipment used for law enforcement purposes.
(2) "Law enforcement equipment" includes body armor, crime tracking technology, photo imaging equipment, surveillance devices, weapons, ammunition, and communication devices.

(e) Local law enforcement agency.- "Local law enforcement agency" means the agency of a county or municipal corporation in the State that performs police protection functions.

The former phrase "including Baltimore City" is deleted as unnecessary in light of the defined term "county" in § 1-101 of this article to the same effect.
