§ 7-118. Organization of Parents and Teachers Matching Fund Pilot Program [Section subject to abrogation].
(a) "Program" defined.- In this section, "Program" means the Organization of Parents and Teachers Matching Fund Pilot Program.
(b) Program established.- There is an Organization of Parents and Teachers Matching Fund Pilot Program in Baltimore City and Prince George's County.
(c) Purpose.- The purpose of the Program is to:
(1) Encourage organizations of parents and teachers to raise funds for public high schools; and
(2) Provide additional State funds for public high schools.
(d) Eligibility; amount.-
(1) Each public high school in Baltimore City and Prince George's County is eligible for a dollar-for-dollar match for private funds raised by an organization of parents and teachers at the school up to:
(i) In Baltimore City, the amount raised by an organization of parents and teachers, not to exceed the school's equal share as determined by dividing $125,000 by the number of public high schools in Baltimore City; and
(ii) In Prince George's County, the amount raised by an organization of parents and teachers, not to exceed the school's equal share as determined by dividing $125,000 by the number of public high schools in Prince George's County.
(2) The total amount expended under the Program may not exceed $200,000 annually.
(e) Funding.- Funds for the Program shall be as provided in the State budget by the Governor.
(f) Report.- On or before December 1 of each year, the Chief Executive Officer of the Baltimore City Public School System and the Superintendent of Schools of Prince George's County shall report to the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee, the Senate Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee, and the House Ways and Means Committee, in accordance with § 2-1246 of the State Government Article, on the status of, and the benefits accrued from, the Organization of Parents and Teachers Matching Fund Pilot Program.
