Chapter 3: SUPERIOR COURT
§120. Justice of the Superior Court to sit in District Court
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court may assign a Justice of the Superior Court who had been serving as a Judge of the District Court and who has been nominated and confirmed as a Justice of the Superior Court to sit in the District Court in order to finish any cases which he had presided over as a Judge of the District Court and which remain unresolved after his confirmation. The order of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court directing a Justice of the Superior Court to sit in the District Court shall be filed with the Executive Clerk of the Supreme Judicial Court, but need not be docketed or otherwise recorded in any case heard by the assigned justice.
