§15110. Welding on boilers; certificates for welders
A welder may not make welded repairs to any boiler or pressure vessel covered by this chapter, without first receiving authorization from the chief inspector or the authorized inspector employed by the insurance company responsible for the inspection of the boiler or pressure vessel. The authorization may be in the form of a general agreement between the chief inspector or the appropriate authorized inspector and the owner or the owner's representative. [1995, c. 560, Pt. The board may adopt rules, pursuant to the Maine Administrative Procedure Act, relating to qualifications of welders performing welding for compensation and may conduct examinations and issue certificates. A fee may be charged for those examinations and certificates. [2001, c. 323, §40 (AMD).]
The board may conduct a welding test facility review. The welding test facility shall pay the required fee for the review. [2001, c. 323, §41 (AMD).]
