92.460 Assessment list and assessment procedure in cities of third class.

property subject to city assessment. He shall finish the assessment list by January 1
next following and return it to the city legislative body. (2) The holder of the legal title, the holder of the equitable title, and the claimant or bailee in possession of any taxable property on the assessment date shall be liable
for the taxes thereon. The property may be assessed to either of such persons, and
shall be valued without regard to any conflicting title. (3) In assessing real estate, each lot or parcel shall be listed as a separate item, together with its number on the map of the city, the street and square where situated, the
depth, and the amount of frontage on each street on which it bounds. The value of
the land and of the improvements shall be given separately as to each lot. (4) The city legislative body shall prescribe and provide, for the use of the assessor, books and blank schedules with appropriate headings and columns. (5) The provisions of the statutes for the assessment of property for taxation for state purposes shall, as far as applicable, govern cities of the third class, except as
otherwise provided in this chapter. Effective: October 1, 1942
