71-1419. Elections to be nonpartisan; application of other laws; canvass.(a) The election of trustees of community colleges shall benonpartisan and laws applicable only to partisan elections shall notapply in such elections. All laws applicable to elections, the violationof which is a crime, shall be applicable to election of trustees ofcommunity colleges.
(b) Except as is provided in (a) above, laws applicable to localelections, including voter registration laws, occurring at the same timeas election of trustees shall apply to the election of trustees to theextent that the same are not in conflict with the provisions of thisact. The provisions of this subsection (b) shall not apply to electionnotices.
(c) Ballots for election of trustees shall be canvassed by themembers of election boards canvassing ballots in other local electionsinsofar as is practicable, and where it is not practicable, the countyelection officer shall provide for such canvass by other appropriatemeans.
