      65-5806.   Licensure; expiration and renewal; continuing education;reinstatement of suspended or revoked license.(a) An applicant who meets the requirements for licensurepursuant to this act, has paid the license fee providedfor by K.S.A.65-5808 and amendments thereto and has otherwise complied with theprovisions of this act shall be licensed by the board.

      (b)   Licenses issued pursuant to this act shall expire24 months from the date of issuance unless revoked prior to that time. Alicensemay be renewed upon application and payment of the fee provided for byK.S.A. 65-5808 and amendments thereto. The application for renewal shall beaccompaniedby evidence satisfactory to the board that the applicant has completedduring the previous 24 months the continuing education required by rulesand regulations of the board.As part of such continuing education, a licensee shall complete not lessthan six continuing education hours relating to diagnosis and treatment ofmental disorders and not less than three continuing education hours ofprofessional ethics.

      (c)   A person whose license has been suspended orrevoked may make written application to the board requesting reinstatement ofthe licenseupon termination of the period of suspension or revocation in a mannerprescribed by the board, which application shall be accompanied by the feeprovided for by K.S.A. 65-5808 and amendments thereto.
