65-1452. Subpoenas and testimony.In all matters pending before it, the board shall have the power toissue subpoenas and compel the attendance of witnesses and the productionof all necessary papers, books and records, documentary evidence andmaterials. Any person failing or refusing to appear or testify regardingany matter about which such person may be lawfully questionedor to produce anypapers, books, records, documentary evidence or materials in the matter tobe heard, after having been required by order of the board or by a subpoenaof the board to do so may, upon application to any district judge of thestate of Kansas be ordered to comply therewith, and upon failure to complywith the order of district judge, the court may compel obedience byattachment as for contempt as in case of disobedience of asimilar order or subpoena issued by said court. A subpoena may be served upon any personnamed therein, anywhere within the state of Kansas with the same fees andmileage by any officer authorized to serve subpoenas in civil actions, inthe same manner as is prescribed by the code of civil procedure forsubpoenas issued out of the district courts of this state.
