65-1155. Expiration of authorizations to practice;renewal; lapsed authorization; reinstatement fee.(a) All authorizations to practice under this act, whether initial orrenewal, shall expire every two years. Thebiennial authorizations to practice as a registered nurse anesthetistshall expire at the same time as the license to practice as a registerednurse. The board shall send a notice forrenewal of theauthorization to practice to every registered nurse anesthetist at least60 days prior to the expiration date of such person's authorization topractice. To renew such authorization to practice the registered nurseanesthetist shall file with the board, before the date of expiration of suchauthorization to practice, a renewal application together with theprescribed biennial renewal fee. Upon satisfaction of the requirements ofsubsection (a) of K.S.A. 65-1159 and amendments thereto theboard shall grant the renewal of an authorization to practice as aregistered nurse anesthetist to the applicant.
(b) Any person who fails to secure the renewal of an authorization topractice prior to the expiration of the authorization may secure areinstatement of such lapsed authorization by making application on a formprovided bythe board. Such reinstatement shall be granted upon receipt ofproof that theapplicant is competent and qualified to act as a registered nurseanesthetist, has satisfied all of the requirements and has paid the board areinstatement fee as established bythe board by rules and regulations inaccordance with K.S.A. 65-1118 and amendments thereto.
