48-240. Duty of commanding officer in case of invasion, insurrectionor public disaster.In case of invasion, insurrection, public disaster, or imminent dangerthereof in the vicinity of any unit, it shall be the duty of the commandingofficer thereof to at once notify the commander in chief, or in the commanderin chief's absence the adjutant general, of the conditions that exist, andto hold himself or herself in readiness to mobilize his or her command andcarry out the orders he or she may receive from competent authority.
