48-214. Military advisory board; duties.There shall be a Kansas military board consisting of the adjutantgeneral, who shall be recorder, the judge advocate general, the threesenior commanders of the Kansas army national guard and the seniorcommander of the Kansas air national guard; there may be three additionalmembers appointed at the discretion of the governor. The military boardshall constitute an advisory board to the commander in chief on militarymatters and said board is hereby authorized and empowered to prepare thenecessary rules, provisions and regulations, together with such amendmentsand changes as may be required and made from time to time, and whenapproved by the commander in chief shall be in full force and effect fromthe date of their publication in general orders; and it shall be the dutyof said board, subject to the approval of the commander in chief, to makesuch changes in the military organization or organizations of the statefrom time to time as they deem for the best interests of the service:Provided, Such changes are in accordance with the laws governing theregular army and regular air force of the United States and the regulationsissued by the secretary of defense, department of the army and thedepartment of the air force of the United States.
