47-619. Stockyard inspector; compensation; duties.The owner or owners of any stockyards doing business in this state, whenrequested by the livestock commissioner, shall keep constantlyin their employ a competent inspector of livestockappointed by the commissioner whose compensation shallbe fixed and duties prescribed by the livestockcommissioner. The livestock commissioner shall prescribe thatportion of the compensation which shall be paid by the owneror owners of the stockyards. It shall be the duty of suchinspector to work in conjunction with the United States governmentauthorities to prohibit and prevent any stock affected with any contagiousor infectious disease to be driven or shipped out of any such stockyardsexcept to some licensed rendering establishment.
