46-1121. Notice to post auditor of awards of federalfinancial assistance to state agencies; computation and reimbursement offederal audit service and other audit service costs to division;disposition of moneys received; expenditures from auditservices fund.(a) Each state agency awarded a federal grant or other federal financialassistance which is subject to afinancial-compliance audit as a condition of such grant or assistance shallnotify thepost auditor immediately of the award of such grant or assistance. Based on theamountand nature offederal money received by the state agency, the post auditor shall computeannually theamount of federal money reasonably anticipated to be required to provideaudit coverage in accordance with federal requirements. The amountsdetermined for such audits shallbe reviewed and approved by the contract audit committee. Upon suchapproval, the state agency, in accordance with K.S.A. 46-1118, andamendmentsthereto, shall reimburse the division of post audit for the amountapproved by the contract audit committee.
(b) The post auditor shall compute the amount of money reasonablyanticipated to be required to provide an audit of any state agency subjectto a financial-compliance audit as required pursuant to any statute otherthan K.S.A. 46-1106 through 46-1117, and amendments thereto, orK.S.A.74-4907, and amendments thereto. The amounts determined for suchaudits shall be reviewed and approved by the contract audit committee. Uponsuch approval, the state agency, in accordance with K.S.A. 46-1118, andamendments thereto, shall reimburse the division of post audit for theamount approved by the contract audit committee.
(c) The post auditor shall remit all moneys receivedunder this section to the state treasurer inaccordance with the provisions of K.S.A. 75-4215, and amendments thereto.Uponreceipt of each such remittance, the state treasurershalldeposit theentire amount in the state treasury to the credit of the audit servicesfund.
(d) In addition toexpenditures which may be made from the audit services fundunder K.S.A. 46-1118, and amendments thereto, expenditures shall be madefrom suchfund, and from other available appropriations, to pay for the cost offinancial-compliance audits performed to comply with federal governmentaudit requirements.
