46-146a. Orientation meetings for members-elect; leadershipconferences; compensation and expenses.Orientation meetings for members-elect of the legislature shall beprovided on the day or days following the preorganizational meetingprovided for in K.S.A. 46-142, as determined by thelegislative coordinating council. The candidates of the majority partiesfor speaker of the house and president of the senate and the majorityand minority leaders of each house may call any members-elect to conferin Topeka concerning organization and activities of the ensuinglegislative session at any time from the day following thepreorganizational meeting until the convening of the next followingregular session of the legislature. Members-elect attending orientationmeetings or leadership conferences as provided in this section shallreceive compensation, expenses and allowances as provided by law forattendance by members of the legislature at authorized meetings underK.S.A. 75-3212 and acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto.
