Chapter 39.--MENTALLY ILL, INCAPACITATED AND DEPENDENT PERSONS; SOCIAL WELFARE
Article 14.--REPORTING ABUSE, NEGLECT OR EXPLOITATION OF CERTAIN PERSONS

      39-1409.   Same; assistance of appropriate public or private agencies,groups or individuals.In performing the duties set forth in this act, the secretary of socialand rehabilitation services, the secretary of health andenvironment, the secretary of aging or an appropriate law enforcementagency may request the assistance of the staffs and resources of allappropriate state departments, agencies and commissions and local healthdepartments and may utilize any other public or private agency, group orindividual who is appropriate and who may be available to assist suchdepartment or agency in the investigation and determination of whether aresident is being, or has been, abused, neglected or exploited or is in acondition which is a result of such abuse, neglect or exploitation, except thatany internal investigation conducted by any caretaker under investigation shallbe limited to the least serious category of report asspecified by the secretary of health and environment, the secretary ofaging or the secretary of social and rehabilitation services, asapplicable.
