Article 5.--DETENTION AND PARENTAL HOMES OR FARMS

      38-515.   Detention homes and juvenile farms for girls; person in chargeand advisory board; appointment, term, compensation.Detention homes or juvenile farms for girls established under theprovisions of K.S.A. 38-511 to 38-514, inclusive, and amendments theretoshall be in the charge of a person or persons to be selected by the judgeof the district court. Such person or persons shall receive and have theadvisory assistance of a board consisting of five (5) residents of suchcounty who shall be appointed by the board of county commissioners. Eachmember shall be appointed for a term of four (4) years, and such advisoryboard shall at all times have access to the home and each departmentthereof and shall be entitled to familiarity with every detail in itsmanagement. The members of such advisory board shall receive nocompensation. The salary of the person or persons in charge of the home orfarm shall be fixed by the board of county commissioners and warrants shallbe drawn for the payment of such salary and all other bills regularlyallowed by said board of county commissioners on account of the expensesincurred for the maintenance of said home.
