Article 43.--RECALL OF ELECTED OFFICIALS

      25-4310.   Same; petition; circulation; signatures;withdrawal.The petitions may be circulated only by a sponsor who is a resident of thestate of Kansasand possesses the qualifications of an elector of the state of Kansasandonly in person throughout the state or election district of the stateofficer sought to be recalled. No copy of a petition shall becirculated in more than one county, and the county election officer ofthe county in which each petition is circulated shall certify to thesecretary of state the sufficiency of the signatures on the petition.Any registered elector of such election district or of the state, as thecase may be, may subscribe to the petition by signing theelector's nameand address as the same appears on the voter registration books. Aperson who has signed the petition may withdraw suchperson's name only bygiving written notice to the secretary of state before the date thepetition is filed. The necessary signatures on a petition shall besecured within 90 days from the date that the petitionsprepared by the secretary of state pursuant to K.S.A. 25-4309, and amendmentsthereto,are delivered to the recall committee. The petition shall be signedonly in ink. Illegible signatures unless accompanied by a legibleprinted name may be rejected by the secretary of state or by any countyelection officer assisting the secretary of state.
