Article 23.--REGISTRATION OF VOTERS

      25-2302d.   Late registration by recently discharged federal servicepeople; certificate; filing with election board.An elector who was a person in federal service within the meaning ofK.S.A. 25-1214, and amendments thereto, and whose status insuch federal service has been terminated by discharge from the armedforces, by separation from the merchant marine, or by termination ofservice or employment outside the territorial limits of the UnitedStates, too late to enable such person to register at the time when andplace where registration is required, shall be entitled to register forthe purpose of voting only at the next ensuing election after suchdischarge, separation, or termination of employment, as herein provided.Such elector shall execute and file with the county election officer ofthe county of his residence, not later than 12:00 o'clock noon on theday before the election, an affidavit in form to be prescribed by thesecretary of state, establishing the eligibility of such elector toregister under this section. The county election officer shall provideto the person registering under the provisions of this section acertificate stating the precinct in which he is entitled to vote, whichshall be presented to and filed with the election board of that precinctat the time of voting.
