23-116a. Solemnizing marriage; persons not authorized; penalty.It shall be unlawful for any person not a duly authorized officiatingperson as provided by K.S.A. 23-104a to perform themarriage ceremony in this state. Any person violating the provisions ofthis act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon convictionthereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars($100) or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than six (6)months or by both such fine and imprisonment.
