306.14 OBJECTIONS -- CLAIMS FOR DAMAGES. The department, the board of supervisors, or the agency in controlof affected state lands and any interested person, may appear and beheard at the hearing. Any person owning land abutting on a roadproposed to be vacated and closed, shall have the right to file, inwriting, a claim for damages at any time on or before the date fixedfor hearing. However, for purposes of this chapter, if an occupiedhomestead is not located on the abutting land and if the vacating andclosing of the road will not landlock the abutting land, a personshall not have a right to claim damages.Section History: Early Form
