        216A.12  COMMISSION OF LATINO AFFAIRS -- TERMS --
      COMPENSATION.
         The commission of Latino affairs consists of nine members,
      appointed by the governor.  Commission members shall be appointed in
      compliance with sections 69.16 and 69.16A and with consideration
      given to geographic residence and density of Latino population
      represented by each member.  The members of the commission shall be
      appointed during the month of June and shall serve for terms of two
      years commencing July 1 of each odd-numbered year.  Members appointed
      shall continue to serve until their respective successors are
      appointed.  Vacancies in the membership of the commission shall be
      filled by the original appointing authority and in the manner of the
      original appointments.  Members shall receive actual expenses
      incurred while serving in their official capacity.  Members may also
      be eligible to receive compensation as provided in section 7E.6.
