        135.78  DATA TO BE COMPILED.
         The department shall compile all relevant financial and
      utilization data in order to have available the statistical
      information necessary to properly monitor hospital and health care
      facility charges and costs.  Such data shall include necessary
      operating expenses, appropriate expenses incurred for rendering
      services to patients who cannot or do not pay, all properly incurred
      interest charges, and reasonable depreciation expenses based on the
      expected useful life of the property and equipment involved.  The
      department shall also obtain from each hospital and health care
      facility a current rate schedule as well as any subsequent amendments
      or modifications of that schedule as it may require.  In collection
      of the data required by this section and sections 135.74 through
      135.76, the department and other state agencies shall coordinate
      their reporting requirements.
