        70A.16  INTERVIEW AND MOVING EXPENSES.
         1.  If approved by the appointing authority, a person who
      interviews for employment by the state shall be reimbursed for
      expenses incurred in the interview.
         2.  A state employee who is reassigned shall be reimbursed for
      moving expenses incurred in accordance with rules and policies
      adopted by the director of the department of administrative services
      when all of the following circumstances exist:
         a.  The employee is reassigned at the direction of the
      appointing authority.
         b.  The reassignment constitutes a permanent change of duty
      station.
         c.  The reassignment requires the employee to change the place
      of personal residence beyond a reasonable commuting distance.
         d.  The reassignment is not primarily for the benefit or
      convenience of the employee.
         3.  If approved by the appointing authority, a person newly hired
      for a state position shall receive reimbursement for moving expenses
      incurred after the person is hired at the same rate provided for a
      state employee.
         4.  Reimbursement for moving expenses authorized under this
      section does not include reimbursement for the expense of moving
      animals.
