626.44 NONRESIDENT -- SERVICE -- TRANSFER OF ACTION. If such secured party is a nonresident or the party's residence is unknown, service may be made by publication as in other actions, but if such residence becomes known before final submission, the court may order personal service to be made. If commenced at law, the court may transfer the same to the equity side as in other cases.
