624.22 PERSONAL JUDGMENT -- WHEN AUTHORIZED. A personal judgment may be rendered against a defendant, whether the defendant appears or not, who has been served in any mode provided in this Code other than by publication, whether served within or without this state, if such defendant is a resident of the state.
