533D.14 - ADMINISTRATIVE PENALTY.

        533D.14  ADMINISTRATIVE PENALTY.         1.  If the superintendent finds, after notice and hearing as      provided in this chapter, that a person has violated this chapter, a      rule adopted pursuant to this chapter, or an order of the      superintendent, the superintendent may order the person to pay an      administrative fine of not more than five thousand dollars for each      violation, in addition to the costs of investigation.         2.  If a person fails to pay an administrative fine and the costs      of investigation ordered pursuant to subsection 1, a lien in the      amount of the fine and costs may be imposed upon all assets and      property of the person in this state and may be recovered in a civil      action by the superintendent.  Failure of the person to pay the fine      and costs constitutes a separate violation of this chapter.
