514B.33 - ESTABLISHMENT OF LIMITED SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS.

        514B.33  ESTABLISHMENT OF LIMITED SERVICE      ORGANIZATIONS.         1.  A person may apply to the commissioner for and obtain a      certificate of authority to establish and operate a limited service      organization in compliance with this chapter.  A person shall not      establish or operate a limited service organization in this state, or      sell, offer to sell, or solicit offers to purchase or receive advance      or periodic consideration in conjunction with a limited service      organization without obtaining a certificate of authority under this      chapter.         2.  When not otherwise provided, a foreign or domestic limited      service organization doing business in this state shall pay the      commissioner the fees as required in section 511.24.         3.  The commissioner shall adopt rules pursuant to chapter 17A      establishing a certification process for limited service      organizations.         4.  Sections 514B.3B and 514B.12 apply to all foreign and domestic      limited service organizations authorized to do business in this      state.         5. a.  For purposes of this section, "limited service      organization" means an organization providing dental care services,      vision care services, mental health services, substance abuse      services, pharmaceutical services, podiatric care services, or such      other services as may be determined by the commissioner.         b.  "Limited service organization" does not include an      organization providing hospital, medical, surgical, or emergency      services, except as such services are provided incident to those      services identified in paragraph "a".
