        511.17  CONTRACTS VOID -- RECOVERY -- DAMAGES --      ATTORNEY FEES.         All contracts, promises, and agreements made by any person to or      with any such company or association concerning any premium, policy,      or certificate of new business, after the revocation of its      certificates or denial of authority to do business, shall be null and      void, and all payments of premium or assessments advanced or made by      any person on account of any such policy, certificate of new      business, or upon any arrangement therefor, may be recovered from      such company or association, or its agent to whom payment was      advanced or made, or from both of them, and in addition thereto      plaintiff may recover an equal amount as liquidated damages, together      with a reasonable fee to plaintiff's attorney for services in the      case.
