455B.116 - POLLUTION HOTLINE PROGRAM.

        455B.116  POLLUTION HOTLINE PROGRAM.         The department shall establish a toll-free telephone number to      allow citizens to report incidents resulting in pollution of the      environment or damage to natural resources.  The department shall      receive and evaluate the reports and refer them to the appropriate      state or local jurisdiction for initial investigation.  The agency      receiving a referral shall investigate the complaint, attempt to      resolve the problem, and upon completion of the investigation, report      to the department on the disposition of each complaint indicating how      the problem was resolved.         The department shall use moneys appropriated to the waste volume      reduction and recycling fund for the purpose of implementation of the      program and shall use the moneys appropriated under section 455E.11      for the program to provide financial assistance to counties for      investigation of complaints.
