Chapter 6. Interpretation of Name Designations

Incorrect names
Sec. 1. Whenever a statute or rule designates a board, bureau,commission, division, department, officer, agency, authority, orinstrumentality of state government, or a political subdivision and thename is incorrectly stated, on the effective date of the statute or rule,or following the effective date, the rights, powers, duties, orliabilities placed with the board, bureau, commission, division,department, officer, agency, authority, or instrumentality weretransferred to a different board, bureau, commission, division,department, officer, agency, authority, or instrumentality, then thenamed board, bureau, commission, division, department, officer,agency, authority, or instrumentality, whether correctly named in thestatute or rule on its effective date or not, refers to the properly orcorrectly named or designated board, bureau, commission, division,department, officer, agency, authority, or instrumentality, or the oneto which the rights, powers, duties, and liabilities were transferred.
