Legislative History of Laws
Law 7-39 was introduced in Council and assigned Bill No. 7-189, which was referred to the Committee on Consumer and Regulatory Affairs. The Bill was adopted on first and second readings on June 30, 1987 and July 14, 1987, respectively. Signed by the Mayor on July 23, 1987, it was assigned Act No. 7-67 and transmitted to both Houses of Congress for its review.

Section 15 of D.C. Law 4-143 provided that the Soil and Water Conservation District, established by § 8-1703, shall terminate on January 1, 1987, unless it is subsequently reestablished by an act of the Council of the District of Columbia. Section 8-1721, reestablishing the Soil and Water Conservation District, was enacted July 25, 1987.
