Sec. 45a-697. (Formerly Sec. 45-78w). Informed consent. Refusal of sterilization. If the court does not find that the respondent is able to give informed consent, such
court shall retain its jurisdiction and shall determine whether such sterilization is in the
best interest of the respondent. Notwithstanding the finding of the court, the respondent
can refuse sterilization, provided the court concludes that the respondent understands
the nature and consequences of such refusal.
