Sec. 38a-559. (Formerly Sec. 38-381). Commissioner of Social Services. Contract authority concerning Medicaid programs. The Commissioner of Social Services may enter into contractual agreements with any carrier or with the Health Reinsurance Association or a residual market mechanism to obtain appropriate administrative
services, insurance benefits or any other insurance related services in connection with
the state's Medicaid program. All terms and provisions of any such contracts shall be
mutually acceptable to the parties involved.

History: P.A. 75-420 allowed substitution of commissioner of social services for welfare commissioner in the public
act which created the section (P.A. 75-616); P.A. 77-614 and P.A. 78-303 replaced commissioner of social services with
commissioner of income maintenance, effective January 1, 1979; Sec. 38-381 transferred to Sec. 38a-559 in 1991; P.A.
93-262 authorized substitution of commissioner and department of social services for commissioner and department of
income maintenance, effective July 1, 1993.
