Sec. 29-225. Suspension or revocation of license, apprentice certificate or owner's registration; grounds. Penalty. (a) The board may suspend or revoke a crane
operator's license, a hoisting equipment operator's license or an apprentice's certificate
after notice and hearing upon a finding that the holder has demonstrated incompetence
or has been guilty of negligence in the performance of his work.
(b) The board may suspend or revoke a crane owner's registration after notice and
hearing upon a finding that the holder has failed to properly maintain his crane or has
permitted the operation of his crane in an unsafe manner.
(c) The board may impose a civil penalty of not more than one thousand dollars on
any crane or hoisting equipment owner or operator who violates any provision of this
chapter or any regulations adopted thereunder.

History: P.A. 84-381 added new Subsecs. (b) and (c) re suspension of crane owner's registration and penalty provision,
respectively, and amended former section, now Subsec. (a), to include revocation or suspension of an apprentice certificate;
June Sp. Sess. P.A. 05-3 amended Subsec. (a) to allow the board to suspend or revoke a hoisting equipment operator's
license and to make a technical change, and amended Subsec. (c) to allow the board to impose a civil penalty on any
hoisting equipment owner or operator, effective July 1, 2005.
