Sec. 14-79. Penalty. The Commissioner of Motor Vehicles may, after notice and
opportunity for a hearing, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54, suspend or
revoke the license or licenses of any licensee or impose a civil penalty of not more than
one thousand dollars for each violation on any person or firm that violates any provision
of this part.

History: P.A. 06-130 added provision re notice and hearing and changed penalty from a fine of $100 to $250 or
imprisonment for 10 to 30 days for the first violation and a fine of $250 to $500 or imprisonment for 30 days to three
months, or both, to license suspension or revocation or a civil penalty of up to $1,000 for each violation, effective June
2, 2006.
