Sec. 14-41a. Renewal of license for persons age sixty-five or over. (a) An individual sixty-five years of age or older may renew a motor vehicle operator's license for
either a two-year period or a six-year period. The fee for any license issued for a two-year period shall be twenty-two dollars.
(b) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a) of section 14-36h, the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles may waive the requirement that a motor vehicle operator's
license issued to an operator sixty-five years of age or older bear a photograph of the
operator upon written application by such operator and a showing of hardship, which
shall include, but not be limited to, the proximity of such operator's residence to a
Department of Motor Vehicles branch office providing license renewal services.

deleted obsolete provisions, rephrased provisions and made other technical changes; P.A. 87-329 amended Subsec. (a),
maintaining the fee at the level existing on and after July 1, 1986, and decreasing the fee effective July 1, 1992, to the level
formerly existing on and after July 1, 1988; P.A. 91-390 replaced former Subsec. (b) which had required that operator's
license bear operator's photograph with new provision permitting commissioner to waive photograph requirement upon
written application and showing of hardship by operators 65 years of age or older; (Revisor's note: In 1997 references
