48-683. Election resolution A. The governing body shall adopt a resolution calling an election upon the question of the issuance of bonds. The resolution shall state in substance: 1. The maximum amount of bonds to be issued. 2. The purpose for which the bonds are to be issued. 3. The maximum rate of interest which the bonds are to bear. 4. A brief and concise statement containing an irrevocable appropriation providing for the payment of the principal and interest of the bonds from monies to be derived from taxes, fees, charges and other monies collected by the state and returned to such city or town for street and highway purposes pursuant to law which have not been theretofore specially allocated and pledged for the payment of indebtedness. 5. The date on which the election will be held. 6. The places where votes may be cast. 7. The hours between which polling places will be open. B. The election resolution shall be published in full at least once, not less than fifteen nor more than thirty days prior to the date of the election, in a newspaper published in the county and of general circulation in the municipality, or, if there is no such newspaper, the resolution shall be printed in full and posted in five conspicuous places in the municipality not less than fifteen nor more than thirty days prior to the date of the election. |
