161.012-5—Approval procedures.
(a)
An application for approval of a PFD light under this subpart must be sent to the Commandant (CG-521), U.S. Coast Guard, 2100 2nd St., SW., Stop 7126, Washington, DC 20593-7126.
(c)
The Commandant advises the applicant whether the light is approved. If the light is approved, an approval certificate is sent to the applicant.
